The Ohio Wing Communications is actively seeking CAP Communicators wishing to contribute and assist in the redevelopment of wing communications, including communications training, technical repair group, HF and VHF Net Control personnel, and other projects. CAP members ranging from newly interested to capable, technical folks each will be able to find a place of interest.

Projects of immediate interest and activity include equipping the first Ohio mobile communications vehicle, enhancing the activity on the HF net now returned to their former frequency and time slot(s), identification of a repeater site managers group, and review of the current equipment allocation for better determination of mission requirements and regular activity; and promotion of Communications as an asset, a valued specialty, and a proud specialty to engage. Future projects of interest limited primarily by identification of a knowledgable project officer include incorporation of APRS and MARCS.

Group Communications Officers, while not necessarily a part of Wing Staff, are a unit Communications Officer's first choice in resource for answering a question or addressing a problem. Communications Officers in squadrons and flights should coordinate communications training with their Group Communications Officer to ensure classes can be attended by as many CAP members within their group as possible.
