Squadron Activites

Flight Sim Flight Sim

Cadets Heaton and Queissar practiced formation flying with two other cadets in a multiplayer session of Microsoft Flight Simulator with the assistance of 1Lt Lentz.

Compass Training

Cadets Rogers and Queisser practice taking a bearing. Our unit is able to practice ground land navigation in the wooded area adjacent to our squadron headquarters. Navigation with compass and map is part of ground team qualification training.

Rocket Recovery Rocket Recovery

Cadets have been learning about model rocketry over the winter at our meetings. Cadet Rogers is preparing the launch of a model rocket during one of our squadron meetings in May. The recovery system deployed properly as shown on the left photo.

Cadet Orientation Flight

Cadets Queisser and Stolz prepare for their first Cadet Orientation Flight with LTC Bream. During the 1.5 hour flight, each cadet had time in the right seat and a chance to handle the controls.


Squadron Members in front of CH47 Helicopter

Our unit toured the Ohio Army National Guard Aviation Support Facility in Akron, Ohio. A Ch-47 Chinook helicopter is being refueled for a night mission with the aircrews using night-vision goggles.



B-17 Flyover during the Gathering of Eagles Airshow at Lost Nation Airport. CAP cadets supported flight line crews during the airshow. Members of Eagle squadron were given orientation flights in the Civil Air Patrol aircraft.
